I had planned to be at Ambalavattam Temple during Navaratri. But due to a disruption in train services on the Konkan route, the trip had to be postponed. As you know, Sri A.K. Umanath will not be back till after the end of Navami Pooja.

But family members and devotees, who may not be able to travel to Thalassery, will be hoping to see photos of the pooja on our website. I have to therefore request for photos from those who are able to make it.

Navami Pooja 2015

Navami Pooja will be celebrated this year as usual  in Ambalavattam Temple. Mahanavami will be on 22 October, Thursday. Vijaya Dashami will be celebrated on 23 October, Friday.

Donations are accepted in Indian rupees only. This is to comply with Government of India regulations. Cheques must be drawn in favour of Ambalavattam Temple Trust.

Devotees may please contact Sri Eswaran Namboothiri on 94 46 656339 for conducting poojas at the temple.

Temple in Evening Light

We were at Ambalavattam Temple last week. The nada was closed when we reached in the evening. We were about to leave after offering prayers. As luck would have it, the poojari arrived at that time. We then stayed on to watch the pooja and aarathi.

Naga Pooja

Naga Pooja was successfully carried out at Ambalavattam Temple on 24 August. The pooja was attended by many family members and other devotees. The pooja also included Sarppabali which was done in the evening. Pambum Mekattu Mana Tantri was the chief poojari

A Kshetra Prashnam was also concluded on 24 August. It has been advised to not change the dates of Punapratishta Dinam which is being held annually on 28 March.

We had gone to the temple on a Sunday. Poojari had kindly waited for us as the train was late by a few minutes. There were no other devotees at the temple at that time. After the pooja, we got the prasadam and proceeded to travel to Kannur.

Family Get-Together

In keeping with tradition, a family get-together was organised at Ambalavattam Temple on 28 March. A number of family members were able to participate. It helped that the get-together and Punapratishta Dinam happened to be on a Saturday. But a few youngsters could not make it due to the ongoing examinations in schools,
